The News with Jorge Gestoso

teleSUR English Poscast

In today's podcast, Jorge Restroso discusses two major news stories:

1. Marine Le Pen, the far-right leader in France, has been disqualified from political office for five years and sentenced to four years in prison (two suspended) for misappropriating EU funds. She faces house arrest and a fine of around $100,000, although she can appeal the ruling.

2. In Ecuador, the indigenous movement Pachacutic has formed a programmatic agreement with Luisa González's Citizens' Revolution party, which could help secure a majority in the upcoming presidential runoff on April 13, after González received 44% of the votes in the first round.

Additionally, Venezuela has stated that international oil companies do not need licenses from third-party governments to operate, pushing back against U.S. sanctions.

Jorge Gestoso signs off, inviting listeners to join him for future updates.
