In today's podcast. Iran has issued a strong military warning to the US after American airstrikes target its nuclear infrastructure. On Monday, a spokesperson for Iran's Central Military Command said, and I quote, In response to this crime by the United States, we will carry out powerful and precise operations that will lead to serious, regrettable and unpredictable consequences, he said.The US, on the other hand, said it won't rule out military action to keep navigation safe if Iran tries to close the Strait of Hormuz. A key route where 20 million barrels of oil pass through every day, according to the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. And as Iran and Israel continue their intense exchange of airstrikes, the UN Security Council says it's time to act and put an end to the violence.Meanwhile, President Putin is hosting Iran's foreign minister in Moscow today. Oil prices have surged as the conflict between Israel and Iran escalates. Futures for West Texas Intermediate, a type of crude oil produced in the US, rose today to over $74 per barrel, reaching their highest level since January.Similarly, Brent crude futures, the benchmark in European markets, soared this Monday to over $77 per barrel, marking the highest price in five months. And in Panama, the government has temporarily suspended mobile phone and residential Internet services in the province of Boca del Toro, which borders Costa Rica, as a method to contain the protests that began in late April in opposition to its administration.
