On today's podcast in Colombia, president Gustavo Petro described the attempt to overthrow him by his former foreign minister Álvaro Leiva as a barbaric and cowardly act of revenge.

After audios and letters were leaked in which Leyva sought support in the United States, including allies of president Trump such as congressman Mario Diaz Ballard, with the aim of applying international pressure for his removal and replacement by vice president Francia Márquez.

Petro also denounced that Leyva alleged a defamatory campaign against him through slander that harmed him from lies that Colombia's mainstream media at the service of the right and far right repeated.
