Colombia

In Colombia, left wing candidate Iván Cepeda filed a criminal complaint against his rival, the far right politician Abelardo de la Espreja, accusing him of participating in the improper use of more than $46,000,000 from the national health care system, with only days remaining before the second round of the presidential election on Sunday. Meanwhile, voting by Colombians living abroad who number more than 4,000,000 eligible voters have been underway since Monday. 

Bolivia

In Bolivia, initiatives to open the dialogue between the government and the Bolivian workers' central, which brings together 70 trade unions, have not succeeded. The central continues to demand the resignation of the right wing neoliberal president Rodrigo Paz, who expelled an Argentine human rights delegation that intended to enter the country.

Brazil

In Brazil, the Supreme Court begins a trial of former congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of former president Jair Bolsonaro. Eduardo Bolsonaro is accused of obstructing the trial against his father for an attempted coup by encouraging sanctions against Brazil from The United States, where he met with representatives of Donald Trump's government in an attempt to hinder the proceedings. Finally, his father was sentenced to twenty seven years in prison.
