Venezuela

The United Nations Development Program program projects 6.5% GDP growth, that is gross domestic product for Venezuela by the end of twenty twenty six. And Venezuela's acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that the Venezuelan economy has achieved 21 consecutive quarters of growth. She called for maintaining national productive unity among all sectors of the country and promoting an export oriented economy. 

Brazil

Electoral campaigns have begun in Brazil. There are 13 parties with 13 candidates. The favorite, according to the polls, Lula, appeared in Sao Bernardo Do Campo at the same stadium where in the nineteen seventies he led major labor demonstrations that launched his political career. He announced that within ten to fifteen days, he would present the program for his next term in office. Meanwhile, his main rival, Flavio Bolsonaro, focused his speech in Rio De Janeiro on security and combating organized crime. And as a consequence of the climate crisis, two people were killed and 10 were injured in a wildfire on the Greek island of Salamina, and in Hawaii, Hurricane Lala brought heavy rains, flooding, and submerged roads. The event highlights the vulnerability of island communities to increasingly extreme weather events.
